University of New Orleans

Hahnville High

Congratulations to HHS Student, Richard Blue, Jr. for being selected to attend the 2007 National Honor Guard Academy.

It will be a two week camp in Baltimore, Maryland.

Richard is the only one in the state of Louisiana to attend this National Activity.

He will be trained by the United States Air Force Honor Guard in three of the four elements of the Honor Guard: Ceremonial/Demonstration, Colors Element and Funeral Element.

The Academy is conducted once a year by Civil Air Patrol and the U.S. Air Force.

Richard is the son of Stacy and Richard Blue of Boutte.

Grambling State

Congratulations to David and Davin Pierre of Luling who both received a bachelor’s degree at the university in 2005 and both young men aer now the proud owners of a master of science degree in sport administration.

Louisiana Math, Science & Arts School

Lex Vieregge, son of Robert Vieregge and Kristin Page of Bayou Gauche, was one of the students that graduated from the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches on Saturday, May 19.

The ceremony was at Prather Coliseum on the campus of Northwestern University.

Lex, a former student at Hahnville High School, was one of 220 students selected to attend the specialty high school.

He attended the school for his junior and senior years and will be attending Louisiana Tech University in Ruston to continue his education in nano technology.
