Students learn the art of interviewing

LULING – Team members from the Culinary Arts and HRT (Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism) Administration courses at the Satellite Center performed mock interviews with human resource officers from the greater New Orleans area.

Tom Pyburn, the HR Director of Emeril’s worked with the Satellite Center facilitators in recruiting members from the HRMA New Orleans organization.

Team members were required to wear business attire and come prepared as if  going to a real job interview.
Prior to the interviews, the team members had to research and create cover letters and resumes on careers in the foodservice industry.

They were assessed by the interviewers on their interview skills.  One team members commented, “That was easier than I thought it would be!”
