Students D.A.R.E. to say no to drugs

Students in Brooke Savoie’s 5th grade class at Lakewood Elementary are busy at work decorating their D.A.R.E. Box as part of the St. Charles Parish D.A.R.E. program.

Under the guidance of St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Officer Vicki Carter, the students are learning how to make good choices, stay substance-free and build healthy peer relationships.

The D.A.R.E. Box serves as an avenue of communication between the students and the D.A.R.E. Officer, allowing them to anonymously ask questions pertaining to the D.A.R.E. curriculum and law enforcement.
