The theme for this year’s VFC luncheon was “Thank You to the Soldiers,” we followed it with red, white and blue decorations.
Members brought signed thank you cards, a pack of crackers was distributed to all service men. We collected over 75 packs of crackers and assorted cookies with thank you cards.
We had the Destrehan ROTC present colors by their color guard and the pledge was said.
The raffle raised $94 and the 50/50 raised $73.24, which was won by Deniese Zeringue. Door prizes were won by Sylvia Lambert, Sis Lirette and JoAnn Walker. The winners of the raffles were Mary Ruth Christina, Iris Andres, Myrtis Fabre, Deniese Zeringue, JoAnn Walker and Betty Keller.
We honored Ms. Jo Cuadrado, she was a member since 1982 and passed away in May of 2009. She will be missed by all. She was a member of the New Sarpy homemakers.
