The St. Charles Art Guild presented their 2006 Member Art Show at the St. Charles Parish Library in St. Rose. The show was presented in memory of Dee Rabalais, a charter member of the guild. The event was open to the public and there was a good turnout. Art students from Destrehan High School and Hahnville High School also participated in the show. In addition to the awards presented, Judi Betts, an artist and resident of Baton Rouge, presented SCAG president, Merrill Zeringue, with a set of books to be donated to the St. Charles Library in St. Rose along with sets to be donated to Destrehan and Hahnville High School libraries. Each set included a copy of “Painting…a QUEST toward Xtraordinary”, “Watercolor, Let’s Think About It!” and “To Stalk Oomingmak, An Artist’s Artic Journal” all by Ms. Betts. Merrill Zeringue also presented a check to Gerri White of the St. Rose Library. The funds are presented to the library to be used to purchase art books.
