St. Charles Parish accountants earn prestigious CAE credential designation

Stacey Lockwood, director of professional oversight, and Lisa Williams, chief financial officer, both have earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) announced the recognition. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry.

Lockwood lives in Destrehan and Williams in Des Allemands.

To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, an applicant must have a minimum of three years experience with nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. To maintain the certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management.

The CAE Program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Ron Gitz, LCPA executive director and CEO, said “We are extremely proud of Stacey and Lisa for their commitment to continued learning and determination in pursuing the CAE designation. We know the value a credential can hold in the business world. As Stacey and Lisa improve their own competencies and learn how to better operate our association, the LCPA and our members will likewise benefit. There are only 21 CAEs in Louisiana, and we’re very fortunate to have two within our organization.”
