Guild plans first workshop Oct. 22

The organization’s first workshop, “Basics of Landscape Painting,” will be held on Oct. 22 through 24 at Destrehan Plantation with Phil Sandusky as workshop instructor. Registration for the workshop began at the Sept. 2 meeting.

Sandusky, a native of Florida, received as bachelor of arts degree in physics and concurrently studied painting at the Art Student’s League in New York.

Sandusky will teach the basics of landscape painting. The first morning of the workshop Sandusky will lecture and demonstrate. In the afternoon of the first day and all day for the remaining two days, the students will work on their own paintings under Sandusky’s tutelage. During this period he will give them advice and demonstrate for them individually and in small groups.
