Seventh graders plant trees on nature trails

Submitted by Daniel Martin

DESTREHAN – Norco environmentalist, Milton Cambre, works with LSU Dr. Pam Blanchard as they prep Harry Hurst seventh grade students to plant over 160 cypress trees along the nature trail in Wetland Watchers Park.

The planted trees were some of the 800 trees that students grew on the Hurst campus as part of the LSU Coastal Roots program that was funded in St. Charles Parish by a Dow Community Grant.
