Satellite Center students celebrate Dot Day

The Satellite Center STAR (Students Teaching and Reaching – Introduction to Education) team members recently celebrated Dot Day.

Dot Day is named after the Peter Reynolds’s book, The Dot in which a teacher helps a young student develop her talents to become an inspiration to others.

To celebrate this day, STAR team members went to Holy Family Preschool and New Sarpy Elementary to read the book and engage the students in dot activities.

The STAR team members were encouraged to ‘make their mark’ on the young students and to be an inspiration just like the teacher in the book. The young children made their marks and dots and were encouraged to be the best they could be.
