Satellite Center Engineering Design class designs and constructs wind turbines

The Engineering Design class at the Satellite Center recently completed a project on design and construction of wind turbines. This project required team members to use their physics knowledge of electricity and magnetism.

Mitchel Graff of Blade Dynamics in New Orleans was invited to judge and evaluate their final products.

Graff stated, “It is truly an honor that Blade Dynamics was invited by the St. Charles Satellite Center to be a guest judge for the school’s wind turbine project. The high degree of enthusiasm and knowledge displayed by the students towards their projects was nothing short of impressive. The environment Stephen Johnston, Engineering Design Facilitator, has created in his classroom is also remarkable. The way in which the students conduct and present themselves in the classroom is what you would expect to see in a professional environment. Blade Dynamics looks forward to working with the Satellite Center in the future to help continue educating their young engineers.”
