Santa helps raise almost $1K for shelter

Santa was a big hit Saturday as he arrived at the Animal Control Shelter to take have his picture taken with pets of all size and breeds brought by their owners from throughout the parish.

Many pets were adorned in Christmas outfits including reindeer ears and lots of bows and ribbons.

“Remi, a dog owned Joey and Racquel Joubert of Luling, wasn’t at all camera shy, he was just in awe of old St. Nick” said Jackie Boudreaux, President of the St. Charles Humane Society.

The event yielded over $900 the help the humane society continue providing services to the shelter animals awaiting adoption.
