RSVP’s ‘MLK Day of Service’ children’s book drive ongoing

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is holding a “MLK Day of Service,” children’s book drive during the month of January in order to help support childhood literacy.

“We are asking for donations of new or ‘gently’ used children’s books,” said Director of RSVP Michelle Higgins.

Donations can be dropped off at the RSVP office at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling and will used to benefit local children.

The MLK book drive is sponsored by RSVP of the River Parishes and the RSVP Advisory Council.
