RRB celebrates year with inauguration

River Region Ballet celebrated its upcoming 2008-2009 season with their Inaugural Presentation Party at Ormond Country Club.

The evening was filled with excitement as the 2008-2009 Company and Junior Company dancers were presented in front of their families and RRB supporters.

RRB Board of Directors President Sarah Comiskey presented each young dancer, recognized the board of directors and then announced the 2008-2009 performances.

The annual production of The Nutcracker will be Dec. 13 and 14, and the annual spring concert, which this year will feature the French comedy ballet Boutique Fantastique is scheduled for March 14,2009.

As a special program, RRB will present Darwin, a special community performance made possible through collaboration with the River Region Drama Guild and Corbian on Oct. 4 and 5. Darwin is an hour-long, family-friendly performance about a dinosaur on a quest to find true love, told with puppets, dancers and lights.

The 2008-2009 RRB Junior Company members are: Madison Cancienne, Mary Frances Candies, Emily Champagne, Rachael Cicero, Sarah DiLeo, Mia Dufresne, Colette Duplantier, Elizabeth Gilmore, Madeleine Raymond and Laura Sullivan.

The 2008-2009 Company dancers are: Taylor Amedee, Kiersten Baker, Courtney Bergeron, Molly Nagele, Shannon Nagele, Stephanie Nagele, Renee Navarre, Noelle Raymond and Allie Wursteisen.

The 2008-2009 Board of Directors are: Sarah Comiskey – President, Henry Sorbet – Treasurer, Angela Amedee, Anne Candies, Dawn Higdon, Paul Ory, Johanna Raymond, DeAnn Sullivan and Lisa Wursteisen.
