The River Parishes Hospital Auxiliary is now seeking applicants for its annual scholarship.
The scholarship is to be awarded to a high school student who plans to enter the healthcare field in Medicine, Nursing or Physical Therapy. The scholarship is payable to the college of the winner’s choice provided all criteria are met.
The applicant should be a resident of St. Charles, St. James or St. John the Baptist Parish, and a graduating senior from a high school located within one of those parishes. He/she should have a GPA of 3.2 or better for the current school year, an ACT score of 23 or higher or an SAT score of 1100 or higher for the current school year. All applicants must submit a Personal Data Sheet, a copy of their high school transcript, and a 200 word essay stating their career goals.
All applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, March 19, 2010.
