The Republican Women of St. Charles recently held a membership tea at the home of Trish Carlson. Local Republican officials gave updates about their offices.
Col. Jordan Jones from the National Guard, gave an update to the group on the troops in Iraq. He showed members a map of the country and after the presentation, the club decided to send “care” boxes to the troops there.
At each meeting, members will be asked to bring items to fill a box to be sent. The first box sent after this meeting contained many Saints items, including some shirts and cups donated by Winn-Dixie in Luling.
Group members were also very active at the recent Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. Several members either attended or worked as volunteers. Joyce Dyson and Christine Plemer were two of the volunteers. They were assigned to help when some of the main speakers appeared including Mike Pence, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrish, Liz Cheney and many others.
Joyce was on C-SPAN as she held the microphone for questions from the audience for Rick Santorum.
