The St. Charles United Methodist Church is taking meal orders for a benefit lunch and dinner for Sheriff’s Officer Cpl. Burt Hazeltine.
Meals are $8 each for jambalaya, corn, bread and dessert available 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 1 at the church, 1905 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan.
It will eat in or take out with delivery available for 12 plates or more in the parish. Pre-orders are welcome for take out and delivery.
Volunteers are requested for 8:30 a.m – noon April 30; for shifts of 7 – 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 – 4 p.m. and 4 – 8 p.m., all on May 1.
Help is needed in phone calling, cut and prep, setting up tables, kitchen work, cooks, servers, assembly, window workers, runners and delivery drivers.
