National merit semifinalist announced

Destrehan High School has announced that Ashlyn Frahm is a National Merit Semifinalist.

Frahm is the daughter of Bridget Frahm. She is a member of the Beta Club, Student Council, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Robotics team and the DHS Choir.  Frahm hopes to attend MIT and major in engineering. She is a resident of Montz.

The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. There were approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. About 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and more than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the merit scholar title.
