MPE scientists study the states of matter

LULING – Juan Ibieta and Philip Ling, Shell engineers and members of the “Science is Fun Team,” volunteered their time to teach third grade Mimosa Park Elementary students about states of matter.

Students used a scale to weigh solids, including a spider-man toy, glass, and metal.

Colin Cassidy, pictured above, said, “Everyone thought metal would weigh more than glass, but I found out that the glass was actually heavier than metal.”
