How can I earn money working from home for my senior class trip?
Dear Mr. Suffrin: I am a 17-year-old senior at Destrehan High School and I need to find a way to earn and start saving money for my senior trip. I don’t have transportation to get back and forth to a job and my parents work late most of the time, so I can’t really depend on them.
What are some ways that I can earn money in my neighborhood or from home? – Need Money in St. Rose
Dear Need Money: There are numerous ways for someone like yourself, who may lack transportation, to earn income from their neighborhood or their home.
Reliable students and young adults are always needed in their neighborhoods to babysit or sit for pets.
You may also be well suited to serve as an academic tutor for younger students.
In addition, you could explore the potential of beginning a lawn service or maid service in the area.
Your computer skills may also come in handy and provide opportunities to be enterprising and profitable from home.
Local companies may be in need of home typing and data entry services, including creating databases.
You could also attempt to identify a product that you could produce and market from your home.
Please remember that you may need to meet certain parish planning and zoning requirements and restrictions to work from home.
