Luling Girl Scout Cadettes win Silver Award for nature trail

Six Girl Scout Cadettes in Luling Troop 21346 created a nature trail and area for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church groups and anyone that wants to experience the outdoors.

The nature trail “Take Action” project earned the cadettes the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest award a registered Girl Scout Cadette in grades 6-8 can achieve. The award exemplifies a Girl Scout’s commitment to helping others and making a difference in their community.

It requires the completion of a series of leadership challenges that prepares them for their final “take action” project that involves approximately 50 hours of work. The cadettes are: Jessica Brown, Madalin Costella, Tatum Dugas, Remi Mato, Madison Torres, and Madelyn Williams.  Project advisor was Tina Costella, and troop leader was Linda Dugas.
