Local company ‘shells out’ support

Employees from Norco lend a helping hand

Shell Pipeline Company LP sponsored a day for employees to give back to the community by offering them the opportunity to volunteer their time to help out St. Bernard residents trying to recover from the damages left by the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Shell employees from St. James Parish and Norco who volunteered were teamed up by the United Way to help the St. Benard Project.

Nineteen employees went to St. Bernard Parish and worked on three houses, so that the owners could get closer to their goal of getting home. The volunteer groups mostly assisted in painting and electrical work.

Those who volunteered were: Debbie Barbin, Debbie Bourgeois, Barney Callahan, Joey Chamberlain, Bill Coburn, Russell Foster, Wayne Gravois, Marvin Hawley, Bob Hill, Mike Holevinski, David Janwich, Terri Jouty, Craig Kraft, Don Labat, Wade Nuccio, Scott Rachal, Darren Shipman, Francis Waguespack and Matt Zuvich.
