The Supriya Jindal Foundation for Louisiana’s Children is proud to announce the award of interactive technology to Mimosa Park Elementary School.
The Foundation, with Humana, has awarded an interactive whiteboard system to Dixie Tardaro’s 2nd grade classroom at Mimosa Park.
The award package includes a Promethean interactive whiteboard with speaker system, an interactive response system that will allow students to actively participate in the lesson, a laptop, all installation and instructor training for all teachers. To date, the Foundation has awarded interactive whiteboard systems to over 200 classrooms across Louisiana.
“Interactive whiteboards are something we are beginning to see transform education across the country. A study recently released shows a 17-29 percentile gain in academic achievement in classrooms with such systems versus classrooms without,” Jindal said. “The Foundation is extremely proud to partner with Humana, who helped to make this award to Mimosa Park Elementary School possible. With hard work, we have the opportunity to make a lasting and positive difference in education.”
