Although we are still three months away from the kick off of Mardi Gras season, the Krewe of Lul parade organizers are already busy planning for the event.If you’re interested in having a float in the 2009 Luling Parade, then you need to be at the club’s next meeting set for Dec. 3 meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Ramada Limited located at 13889 River Rd. in Luling.
Large float entry fees are as follows: $300 through Dec. 3, $450 Dec. 4 through Jan. 7, 2009 and $600 Jan. 8, 2009 through Feb. 4, 2009.
Small float entry fees are: $200 through Dec. 3, $350 Dec. 4 through Jan. 7, 2009 and $500 Jan. 8, 2009 through Feb. 4, 2009.
Fire trucks, emergency vehicles with riders, and cars and trucks with riders will have to pay the following entry fees: $50 through Dec. 3, $75 Dec. 4 through Jan. 7, 2009 and $100 Jan. 8, 2009 through Feb. 4, 2009.
No entries will be permitted after Feb. 4, 2009.
Krewe of Lul float numbers and parade line-up will be announced on Feb. 18, 2009 at the Ramada Limited in Luling.
Official meeting dates are as follows: Dec. 3, Jan. 7, Jan. 21, Feb. 4 and Feb. 18, 2009. All meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Ramada Limited in Luling.
The parade is set to roll on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009. Line up is at 10 a.m. followed by the parade at noon. Contact Debbie Dufrense-Vial at 504-559-4910.
