The Killona Queens, a non-profit community group, is challenging all R.K. Smith Middle and Luling Elementary students who live in Killona to excel in school this year.
The group is offering trophies as an incentive.
“These kids are smart, but they need that little extra push to do better,” said Irene Dinvaut, a member of the group.
Students can bring a copy of their first nine-weeks report card to Trina Douglas or Irene Dinvaut. They can be contacted at (985)817-9300. At the end of the year, those participating will show their final report card and if their grades have improved they will receive a reward.
