Kids share humourous Thanksgiving recipes

We asked kindergartners from Norco Primary and first and second graders from Luling Elementary and Des Allemands Elementary what their favorite food is for Thanksgiving and how its made.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving food and how do you make it?

My favorite food for Thanksgiving is turkey. I make turkey by going in the woods and I kill the turkey with a gun. Then I fry the turkey. Then I am ready to eat. It takes 20 hours.

My favorite thing is pumpkin for Thanksgiving. You have to get a pumpkin and you have to get the seeds out. Then you have to get cake mix and stir. Then you have to bake it. You will have a pumpkin pie.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving food and how do you make it?

I like to eat turkey and chicken and gumbo and mash potatoes. First you chop off wings then you season it. Then you put it in the oven for 50 minutes and when it is done then you get the pan and get to eat.

What are you most thankful for?

For shoes and clothes and a bed and games and a TV so I can watch TV.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is ham because every time it is Thanksgiving I will ask my mom. It is made of meat and beef.

My favorite food for Thanksgiving is baked mac and cheese because cheese is healthy. Mac and cheese, first you put the water in. Next you put it in the microwave. Then you take it out of the microwave and put the cheese in. Then you mix the cheese up.

I am most thankful for an ipod touch and my family and my friends and cousins and presents from Santa and presents for my birthday.

My favorite food is turkey because it has a juicy inside.The turkey is made like this, you take the feathers off then season it. Then put it in the oven.

My favorite food for Thanksgiving is sweet potatoes.First peel the skin off then smash the potatoes. Put sauce on, put it in the oven for four minutes, take it out of the oven and eat it.
