Keith Andry featured at Art Guild watercolor workshop

The St. Charles Art Guild of St. Charles Parish held a three-day watercolor workshop Jan. 16-18 with Watercolorist Keith Andry at the Grand Ridge Golf Club in Luling.

Andry was born in Thibodaux. He began fingerprinting at the age of two and sold his first painting at the age of six (to his first-grade teacher).

At the early age of eight, his art began an award-winning streak that has taken him to national and international juried exhibitions.

According to Andry, “Painting is the way to communicate, not only what I see visually, but also what I feel and sense. It gives me great sense of accomplishment to see the blank paper come to life with strong design, bold colors and a unique style that combines wit and design principles into a single work of art.”

The workshop was supported in part by grants from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Bayou Regional Arts Council, the River Region Arts and Humanities Council, and the St. Charles Women’s Club.
