Jim Melohn, chief financial officer of St. Charles Parish Public Schools, has been awarded the Magnolia Award for Individual Achievement from the Louisiana Association of School Business Officials (LASBO). Melohn will receive the award April 15 at the LASBO-SASBO regional conference at the Schreveport Convention Center.
The award acknowledges “outstanding individual service to LASBO” and work in the cause of public schools in Louisiana, according LASBO. According to the organization, “You are recognized for your “unwavering dedication to becoming an effective legislative advocate as evidenced by the amount of testimony (you have) given before all pertinent legislative education and retirement committees, often times as the sole Individual testifying as an expert on school business affairs.”
