Jazz in Motion dancers win “All Star” studio award

Joh’anna’s Jazz in Motion was presented with the All Star studio award last week in Mississippi at the Dance USA competition.

The award was given to the owner Joh’anna Walker-Hebert for her inspiration to her students, her choreography and her overall impressive attitude towards her students and parents.

The youngest group “Gitchy Gitchy Go” of 4- and 5-year-olds won the Most Entertaining award for the week at the national competition.

The group included Anistin Murray, Caylee Landry, Maria Lockwood, Savannah Rouselle, Cheyenne Baxley, Danica Robichaux and Micah Freitas.

The group also won High Gold for an outstanding performance and 1st place overall in their age division.

The group “All I Do Is Win” also won High Gold and was invited back to compete in the final competition.

They also placed 1st overall in the group division.

Included in this group were Lauren Shavor, Shelby Nelson, Emily Duckworth, Taylor Brown, Jenna Lirette and Casey Norris.

Anistin Murray won a High Gold and Micah Freitas won a gold award, individually.

Shelby Nelson, Lauren Shavor and Elysa Brady all won Gold for their solos.
