J. B. Martin student nominated for national conference

Logan Long, a 7th grade student at J.B. Martin Middle School, was nominated to represent the school and the community as a member of the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. in 2010.

The Congressional Youth Leadership Council nominates exceptional students to attend an experiential educational program that includes tours of the D.C. area, leadership development activities, and the opportunity to meet influential people from around the nation.

Long maintains a 3.66 GPA and is on the honor roll. He is also involved in Talented Art as well as having been a nominee for the R.J. Vial Elementary Student of the Year for 2008-09.

Registration costs for him to attend the conference are $2,390. Currently, Long has raised $500, but he is still looking for individual contributions or business sponsorships.
