Students and teachers at J. B. Martin Middle School in Paradis recently held a “Jeans Day” to raise more than $430 for the Louisiana Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Students or teachers that contributed a dollar were allowed to wear blue jeans to school that day. More than 785,000 Americans have leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Money raised will be used to help fund research of these diseases.
