Hurst Middle Wetland Watchers were on hand at the St. Charles Rotary Club Alligator Festival to help start the annual Gator Stomp 5K race on the levee overlooking the festival grounds.
Student volunteers answered questions and shared baby alligators with the race participants as well as having the Wetland Watcher mascots Swampy and Marshy pose for photographs with the runners.
