New Sarpy kids learn about life in Japan

NEW SARPY – Ms. O’Rourke’s first graders (right)and Ms. Miller’s third graders at New Sarpy Elementary School have been working together to develop knowledge of our neighboring country, Japan.

With the help of Kuniyo Schmidt, a first grader’s mother, who is from Japan, the students learned first hand about the country as they made origami, ate Japanese food, and shared in the learning of Japanese language and games.K’garten class writes books about animals

DESTREHAN – Hurst Middle School’s Patricia Mecham led students in writing age appropriate books about Louisiana animals for New Sarpy Kindergarten.

Norco students plant trees for Arbor Day

NORCO – Norco Elementary K-3 School celebrated Arbor Day. The school planted a tree in memory of DeQuan Humphries.

Grandparents honored at AA Songy school

LULING – The children in Becky Becnel’s preschool class at AA Songy Kindergarten Center recently held Grandparent’s Day. The children and grandparents enjoyed some qualilty time together singing the children’s favorite songs.
