Ama’s Glenn Singleton met with parishioners and state and local officials at the East Regional Library to sign copies of his new book, “Crossing Over: A Tribute to Don Raymond.”
The book chronicles the life and death of local football star Don Raymond who was the first black athlete to play a sport at Hahnville, the first black four-sport letterman in the state’s history and the first black player named to Louisiana’s All-State football team.
Copies of the book are available at www.morganhillpublishing.com. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to benefit the Crossing Over Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial scholarships to help under-privileged youth with dreams of pursuing careers in athletics and those with learning disabilities.
