Getting a head start: ‘Success By 6’ program kicks off with a bang

What would happen if all children started their first day of kindergarten ready to succeed- socially, developmentally, and academically?

That is the question that the “Success by 6” program tries to answer.

The goal of Success By 6, a national initiative, is to prepare children to succeed in school and beyond.  The program triest to accomplish this by supporting parents and caregivers, improving access to services and educating lawmakers about the importance of early childhood education.

The St. Charles Community Health Center and the United Way of St. Charles held a summer kick-off event for the program on June 4 at the St. Charles Community Health Center that over 150 parents and children attended. The event featured prenatal services, health and vision screenings, immunizations, parent workshops, face painting and door prizes.
