Gardner Realtors celebrates top performers at Golden Dome Awards

Girl Scouts Louisiana East honored its adult volunteers at the council’s Annual Meeting on April 18, with special recognition going to a select few.

Among those receiving council-level awards were St. Charles Parish volunteers Jan Barbee, Denise Matherne and Hollie Pfister.

Barbee, a resident of Des Allemands who received the Volunteer of Excellence award, has been involved in Girl Scouts in many ways, from troop leader to her current role as the St. Charles Parish Service Unit administrator.

Described as a great collaborator and motivator by her colleagues, she has helped to organize many large events and most recently served as a council delegate to the Girl Scout National Convention in Utah last fall.

Matherne and Pfister both received the Appreciation Pin, which recognizes an individual’s outstanding service in delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, benefiting at least one geographic area of service.

Matherne, a resident of Des Allemands, has given over 10 years of service to Girl Scouts in various service unit positions including that of a recruiter and organizer.

She is eager to offer assistance to other troops and as an assistant troop leader to a Senior Girl Scout troop, encourages the older girls to help lead younger Girl Scouts.Pfister, a resident of Norco, has been a registered Girl Scout for more than 20 years.

She consistently leads the St. Charles service unit to have a successful product sale each year, and was noted as being the “best cheerleader for the girls,” reported Director of Volunteerism Kari Volz.
