River Parishes Hospital welcomed its first baby of the New Year, Gabriella Marie Bivona, on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 10:40 a.m.
Gabriella weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 inches long.
Her proud parents are Justin Estrada and Kelly Bivona of Paulina, Louisiana.
Bivona arrived at the hospital late on New Year’s Day, but little Gabriella wanted to wait until her father arrived to witness her birth.
“Justin arrived just in time to see the birth,” said Dr. Rachel Bezdek, Bivona’s OB/GYN physician. “He wasn’t able to be here for the birth of his son,” said Bivona.
To make the birth a special event, River Parishes Hospital presented the family with a gift basket filled with merchandise and gift certificates from the hospital and area businesses.
Included in the basket was a $100 of merchandise from the River Parishes Hospital Gift Shop, a $50 gift certificate to Chili’s Restaurant, a $50 gift certificate from Bull’s Corner Restaurant, a $50 gift card from Louisiana Federal Credit Union, a $25 gift certificate to Sam’s Club, a $25 gift certificate to Roussel’s Antiques and a $20 gift certificate to The Original Italian Pie Restaurant.
The hospital also presented the family with a portrait package from Portraits By Susie.
