Farmers’ Market featuring Kevin Gullage

On Saturday (Oct. 13), musician Kevin Gullage will perform at the German Coast Farmers’ Market from 9 to 11 a.m. at Ormond Plantation. Also, Nancy Tregre Wilson will be at the market for her book signing of “Mémère’s Country Creole Cookbook: Recipes and Memories from Louisiana’s German Coast.”  The River Region Master Gardeners will also be at the market. Gullage Gullage was born into gospel, is a student of Jazz and has a passion for the Blues. He is the son of bass player Tony Gullage (Dr. John, Henry Butler) and began performing and composing music at age 6. After middle school, Kevin auditioned for and was accepted to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) where he was a standout scholar in the jazz instrumental department.

Gullage’s outstanding status allowed  him to be selected to be a part of the 2017 National Performing Arts High School All-Star Sextet. Kevin currently performs weekly at the world famous BB King’s Blues Club in New Orleans. In 2017, he was also invited to perform with the multi-Grammy winning band Blues Traveler for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Gullage’s ability to perform multiple styles has made him a fast rising talent that is continuously being sought after. He performs solo and with his high energy versatile band, the “KGB” (Kevin Gullage Band). Some of Kevin’s musical accomplishments include: Touring with music legend Bobby Watson, 2016 St. Charles Got Talent Winner, Louie Armstrong Summer Jazz Program, Berklee City Music Summit (Newark, N.J.), WWL-TV Morning Show, News with a Twist and performing with Grammy winner Patrice Rushen.
