Charlene Bruce, St. Charles Parish Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Chairman would like to invite single young ladies to enter the Farm Bureau Teen Queens Contest, and Queens Contest on Saturday, March 15.Entry fees for the Teen Queen is $30, Queen is $40 and Amateur talent $20. The contest will be held in St. Charles Parish at St. Rose American Legion Hall.
There will be a Teen queen’s contest, queen’s contest and an Amateur talent contest.
The queen’s contestant must be a resident of St. Charles Parish, single, and never had a child between the ages of 16-19, and should not hold any other local, festival or state title, this is a binding title.
The prizes will be a cash scholarship, crown and banner, a special award for queen and runner-ups, expense-paid trip to State Convention at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans to compete for the state title June 26 to 29.
The teen queen’s contestant should be a resident of St. Charles Parish, single, and never had a child between the ages of 13 and 15, and should not hold any other local, festival or state title, this is a binding title.
The prizes will be a cash scholarship, crown and banner, a special award for Teen queen and runner-ups, expense-paid trip to State Convention at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans in June.
The Amateur Talent Contestant can be any single person through age 19 by June 26 a resident of St. Charles Parish, with a maximum of four persons permitted in one act.
No act may run over four minutes. Any entertainment in good taste is suitable.
This includes vocal, instrumental, folk dances, dancing, novelties, impersonation, etc. Modest dress in costume is required.
No large props will be allowed. Prizes will be a cash award, a special award for the winning act and runners up, and an expense paid trip to the State Convention at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans in June.
Queen Contestants will be invited to attend an orientation on Tuesday, March 4.
At the orientation, officials will go over dos and don’ts for the contest and answer any questions the contestant may have.
