Destrehan High School senior Valdrie Buford was recently selected to participate in the MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Online Science, Technology, & Engineering Community (MOSTEC).
The online program immerses students in science and project-based learning through social networking. Students learned about fields ranging from aerospace, astraspace, neuroscience, combinatorics, robotics and astrophysics. Valdrie and his fellow participants visited the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for five days this summer.
During this campus visit, Valdrie met college professors, worked on projects and presented the findings of their studies. The MOSTEC program is currently assisting Valdrie with the college admissions process.
