Homecoming royalty was recently named at Destrehan High School.King Kristian Mosley of New Sarpy is the son of Kiera Webb and Eddie Mosley. His activities at the school include football for four years and track for four years. He was named to the All-District 1st Team in football for the 2015-16 and 2014-15 and 2013-14 seasons; he was named All-Metro 1st Team for 2015-16 and 2014-15; he was named All-State 1st Team in 2015-16. In track, he was a state finalist in the 200M in 2013-14. He also participated in band for one year. He plans to pursue a degree in pediatric nursing after graduation.
Queen Cara “Moon” Ursin of St. Rose is the daughter of Erica and Eric Burise. Her activities at the school include basketball for four years. She serves as the varsity captain of the Lady Wildcats. Her accolades on the basketball court include being named three-time District MVP; District Defensive Player of the Year; 1st Team All-District; LA Metro All-Star Team and LA All-State Team; two-time Gatorade Player of the Year; LA Miss Basketball 2015-16 and the St. Charles Shootout MVP in the 2013-2014 season. She has made the Honor Roll for four years. She also has participated in Beta for three years; Student Council for three years; Rho Kappa for two years; Wildcat Mentor for one year and Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council for 2016-17. She plans to play college basketball while pursuing a degree in physical therapy after graduation, as well as to compete in the 2020 Olympics.
