Destrehan grad completes Airforce basic training

U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jasmine R. Anderson graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Anderson is a 2009 graduate of Destrehan High School.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Anderson is the daughter of Roosevelt Lockett of Townsend, Del. and Annette A. Anderson of Des Allemands, La., step-daughter of Tavanya G. Lockett of Townsend, Del. and Lloyd M. Armstrong of Des Allemands, La., and granddaughter of Lorena C. Jones of Jenerette, La. and Walter Anderson and Doris Y. Anderson of Destrehan, La.
