Comets busy spreading Thanksgiving and Christmas cheer

At St. Charles Catholic High School, the students, faculty, staff and parents have so much to be thankful for each day.

SCC celebrated its school Thanksgiving Mass and hundreds of canned goods were collected and brought up during the Offertory at the St. Charles Catholic Thanksgiving Mass. The school-wide Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by Father Walter Austin.  Over 50 baskets of food were presented at Mass along with a donation of $1497 to go towards gift certificates for turkeys.

On Thanksgiving Day, SCC will teamed up with Marathon, Cargill, and Mr. Poncho Roussel to prepare and deliver over 500 meals to the needy in our community.  Each year, SCC prepares and delivers hundreds of delicious turkey meals Thanksgiving Day. Students deliver the meals right before noon.  This service project carries out the mission of SCC.

The Fellowship Christian Athletes at St. Charles Catholic High School recently made gift-filled shoeboxes as part of “Operation Christmas Child.”  The members filled over 25 shoeboxes with brand new items such as small books, bibles, rosaries, socks, and school supplies.  The St. Charles Fellowship of Christian Athletes completed the packing at one of its recent Thursday night meetings as a way to give thanks.  FCA leader John Campbell stated that this annual tradition at SCC “is a wonderful chance for us to share God’s love and joy with boys and girls around the world.”
