The St. Charles Women’s Club recently held its annual TeaCup Auction at the Chateau Country Club.This year’s event helped to celebrate the club’s 50th year in existence.
Event co-chairs Pam Shepard and Sally Schexnayder said the annual social event raised $18,380.
All proceeds go to St. Charles Parish for nonprofit organizations that enhance the way of life in the community. Fund recipients are announced in May.
Businesses and members donate items ranging from jewelry to gift certificates and furniture to mini-getaways. Guests buy chances to win items of most interest to them.
Next year’s event is scheduled March 11 at the Jerusalem Temple in Destrehan.
