Book Review: “Awakened”

Reviewed by Alaina Brockmann

“Awakened” by P.C. and Kristin Cast is set in Tulsa and Scotland during current times.

This book is the eighth installment in the House of Night series and follows Zoey Redbird on her journey to defeat darkness.

Zoey is a Vampire High Priestess who has chosen – with help from loyal friends – to take on the nearly impossible battle of defeating darkness.

After losing her first love and best friend to the battle, Zoey must make the complicated choice of staying on the peaceful Isle of Skye with her warrior and new love or returning to her home in Tulsa to stop evil-doers Neferet and Kalona from ruling with darkness.

Can her friends convince her to return in time to save everyone or is it already too late?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Awakened.” This well-written book is geared towards older teenagers.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a more mature mystery that becomes more captivating with each turn of the page.
