Qualifying parents can register their 4-year-olds for a chance at free placement in private school pre-kindergarten programs for the coming school year.
A limited number of classroom seats are available at Boutte Christian Academy in St. Charles Parish. Registration began on Jan. 20, 2011.
Made possible be the State of Louisiana’s Nonpublic Schools Early Childhood Development (NSECD) Program and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, state funds will pay private school pre-kindergarten tuition for participating 4-year-olds.
Qualifying requirements for parents and children include:
•Students must turn four years old on or before September 30, 2011.
•Students must be current on all medical immunizations.
•Participating families must have an annual household less than:
$29,140 for family size of two; $36,620 for family size of three; $44,100 for family size of four; $51,580 for family size of five; or $59,060 for family size of six.
As a provider school in the NSECD Program, Boutte Christian Academy adheres to the developmental philosophy outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education programs are proven by research to result in long-term positive outcomes for children.
