I’m a guy who’s shy about my baking hobby

Dear Nattie: I have been reading your column and I have noticed that you do not have a lot of guys write to you.

Anyway being a guy is hard when you have a passion for baking. I like to bake cookies, cakes – basically everything.

The thing about it is that it is not very manly and I’m afraid that I would be picked on if people found out.

They have a bakeoff coming up and I want to submit one of my cakes. What should I do? – Passionate Baker in Des Allemands

Dear Baker: I think it is great that a guy has a passion for something that is not so manly.

Most girls like guys with a sensitive side and a guy that can cook. I don’t think that being a baker makes you any less of a man and it takes a man to admit he likes such things.

You should defiantly enter one of your cakes. Let me know how you do.

I’m struggling with feelings for my ex-boyfriend

Dear Nattie: I have this big issue that I need your help with.

I got out of a relationship with this guy a while ago and I still have feelings for him.

But now I have feelings for another guy.

I really like this other guy but I feel guilty.

All of my friends say that it is just part of life but it feels like so much more than that. What should I do? – Hopelessly in Love in Paradis

Dear Hopelessly: I am really glad that you have found another guy to take your mind off of your previous relationship.

However, you should not feel guilty that you have developed feelings for another guy.

As your friends say, it is part of life, but it is also part of the healing process. You should let your feelings for the other guy go. Live in the present, not in the past.
