Student paintings, sculptures showcased at annual Arts Awareness Festival

Young artists across the parish had their work showcased during the St. Charles Parish Public Schools’ Annual Arts Awareness Festival.

The show was held at the Professional Learning Center in Luling on April 16 and more than 425 students and teachers presented theirwork.

“It was indeed a great event. It was outstanding,” Superintendent Dr. Rodney Lafon said.

Lafon also said that the event has grown so much each year that soon it may outgrow the learning center facility.

The event included not only artwork, but also musical performances, games and theatre performances. Admission is always free for the public to come out and enjoy the artwork of the parish’s youth.

The event was hosted in conjunction with the River Region Arts and Humanities Council.
