Council to vote on waiving permit and inspection fees associated with Hurricane Ida recovery

The St. Charles Parish Council will vote Tuesday night on an emergency ordinance that would allow the parish’s Planning and Zoning Department to waive local permit fees and some plan review and inspection fees.

The ordinance would waive the fees for repairs and renovations permits required as a result of damage sustained resulting from Hurricane Ida. The ordinance would be effective immediately and last through February 28, 2022.

Due to Hurricane Ida and the damage sustained to the St. Charles Parish Courthouse, the council meeting has been relocated to the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center Meeting Room, located at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
