The first 100 kids to arrive at STEM NOLA’s Business 2 Innovation event at Destrehan High School on Jan. 4 will receive a free gift.
STEM Fest, which last from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., will include over 60 STEM activities for students from kindergarten to 12th grade. Registration is available online.
Attendees can also explore STEM NOLA’s new Starlab, a portable planetarium that offers an immersive, 360-degree learning experience.
According to a press release, STEM NOLA’s mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators, creators, and problem-solvers – especially those in under-resourced communities. The non-profit uses project-based activities and hands-on designed learning to engage students in science, technology, engineering and math. Corporate volunteers and college students work with K-12 students as instructors and mentors.
STEM Fest is sponsored by New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, Dow, Venture Global LNG, Chevron, the Scratch Foundation, Ochsner Health and Entergy.
