Local business to host 3rd annual Easter egg hunt

Rae Dior Couture, an online clothing boutique, will host its 3rd annual Easter Egg Hunt Sunday, April 13 at Jerusalem Shriners from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will feature face painting, tug-of-war games, football, game trucks, canvas painting, train rides and dancing before the Easter egg hunts begins at 4:30 p.m.

Families can also take pictures with the Easter bunny.

Luckii Wells, owner of the clothing boutique, said organizing the Easter egg hunt is a way to give back to the children of the community and express her gratitude to those who have supported her clothing line.

“My hope is that this event brings unity among everyone who attend this event, demonstrating that we can come together regardless of race or ethnicity,” Wells said. “Unity is essential, and these children are our future.”

Wells opened the children’s clothing boutique in May 2019. Her daughter, Rae’Lynn Dior Jackson, was her inspiration.

“I would often dress her up and post pictures of her, and many people admired her, which led me to consider creating a clothing boutique that she could one day own,” she said.

Over 150 children attended the business’ first Easter egg hunt, and Wells knew she had to continue the tradition.

“Many parents also suggested that I host another event due to its success and they also help contribute towards the event by donating things needed to make the event possible,” Wells said. “I honestly couldn’t have done this without the help of the community. So, here we are, year three and going strong.”

She said the event will feature various vendors, offering food, sweets, snacks, crawfish and homemade lemonade for purchase. Complimentary water will be provided.

Wells is also looking for a way to bring real bunnies to the event for a petting zoo. Motivational speaker Rayshone Emmanuel will speak to the children before the hunt’s kick off.

“I look forward to seeing new faces,” Wells said.
